As a WH fan and with the reveal finally coming soon, this whole thing kept screaming Cathay and Chaos Daemons to me and couldn't stop thinking about it while watching the movie.Don't disrupt Wookieepedia to prove a point This mystical village was also responsible for protecting a magical gate behind which soul-sucking monsters and daemonic entities were trapped. I really can't wait to see how the Cathay ones are going to look (im taking for granted they'll have them in their roster), and how even the Dragon Emperor could possibly look. The CGI was amazing, the design top notch, the way it moved and "flew" around with its serpetine wingless body was fantastic. Possibly the chinese phoenixes too.įinally, the Chinese dragon from the movie was absolutely fantastic. The Guardian lions, the Qilin, the nine-tailed foxes are very iconic in chinese folklore and seem quite likely. There's plenty which i'm fairly sure we'll see in the roster. I found a good list here of all the creatures seen in the movie: Not gonna lie, my mind went straight to Cathay, and hyped me up even more for the incoming reveal. When the protagonists enter the mystical village of Ta Lo we get to see tons of mythological creatures from Chinese folklore in full CGI glory, and generally amazing fantasical and chinese-inspired landscapes. Having said that, the third act sees the movie shift from grounded martial arts to full blown chinese fantasy. It's very Marvel formula, but also quite original, fun and enjoyable at the same time, so overall i liked it for sure. Won't go into the movie itself since its not the point of the topic. This topic is for those who also have seen it by now.
So, as i'm assuming pretty much everyone is aware, Marvel just released their latest MCU movie which I just saw yesterday.
